A Way To Remember.
A Way To Remember.
Some jewelry has more meaning than others and these two rings are the perfect example. These are ash rings, meaning they contain the human ash of a loved one. The rings were a private custom commission and filled with meaning, in more ways than one.
The rings are made out of Platinum, a hard life long-lasting metal, and contain a hollow Platinum rod hidden under the wave-like structure that contains the ashes. The handmade miniature container was sealed to never be opened. The ashes were placed in the handmade container by Susan in front of the two women who now wear these priceless rings. Susan built special tools in order to do this and practiced with fireplace ash- which she found out is very different from human ash.
The ash is from a dynamic gentleman named Benjamin, the son, and brother of the wearers of these rings. He was into anything that moved, such as surfing and skateboarding, which is why the wave design, his symbol of joy, was incorporated.
The Diamonds and Emeralds set in the ring on the left are the birthstones of the four family members and worn by his sister. The baguette diamonds set in the ring on the right represent the four family members and worn by his mother.
The rings have a lot of symbolism that is private between the family and Susan.
